Expert Computer Systems In Tourism: Emerging Possibilities

Expert systems are designed to cope with problems or decisions which conventional computer tools are unable to handle because the solution relies on the knowledge and inferential reasoning capabilities of human experts. Since expertise plays an important part in the activities of many sectors of the tourist industry, and because expert systemts are beginning to have an important impact on business generally, a preview of the potential impact of expert systems on tourism is opportune.
