The Journal of Travel Research is one of the outstanding journals in the area of travel and tourism studies. Its national and international accomplishments have been consid erable since the early 1970s. This study examines articles on international themes from 1973 through 1989 published in the Journal of Travel Research. The study examined whether international coverage has increased in the journal and how these articles were distributed in their discussion of the world's regions and nations, and where the authors of the articles resided at the time the articles were produced.
